CONTOURS SPA

Luxury Day Spa and Fitness Center

In this class called Senior Studio, we had to design a 30,000 square foot two-story building into a Spa and Fitness center. We were only given the shell of the existing building and we were required to keep the franchise brand name: Contours. Everything else was designed by me. 

I decided to have my Contours be a high-end fitness center and luxury day spa. With the tag line being “Detox, Escape, Rejuvenate”, the idea was you would spend the entire day at Contours to thoroughly cleanse your body and soul. The “Detox” section of the club included all the fitness group rooms, the juice bar, and the healthy bistro dining area. The “Escape” area would be the entire Aquatic center, where clients would spend a majority of their day. Between the plunge pools, mineral spa, steam room, individual infrared saunas, and the outdoor pool, clients would find a vast amount of areas to relax and ‘escape’ from reality in. The “Rejuvenate” area included all the spa treatment areas, including the Quiet Lounge, where clients could sip citrus-infused water and enjoy fresh fruit while they wait for their masseuse or esthetician. The entire day spa experience allows you to ‘detox’ your body, ‘escape’ the worries of everyday life, and ‘rejuvenate’ through hands-on relaxation.
